children familiar with great thoughts take as naturally to thinking for themselves as the well-nourished body takes to growing; and we must bear in mind that growth, physical, intellectual, moral, spiritual, is the sole end of education." Charlotte Mason

John Goodall books
A long, long time ago (in our world that would be anytime pre-dating K's birth), C found two picture books at Half-Price Books. We bought them for her. I was delighted that she had picked such charming books but didn't give the books much attention. Then she asked me to read them to her. When I had to 'read' the stories in these wordless books, Goodall's narrative skill as an illustrator became clear. These books are classic and timeless.
I wrote a review where I mention five of his books for Suite101.
