children familiar with great thoughts take as naturally to thinking for themselves as the well-nourished body takes to growing; and we must bear in mind that growth, physical, intellectual, moral, spiritual, is the sole end of education." Charlotte Mason

dogs
It has been several years since Willow died. As is typical of Tim and I, the process of getting a new dog has been time consuming. We knew that we didn't want another greyhound and were looking into a Bichon or Bichon mix.
The girls used to like to watch Dogs101 on AnimalPlanet. One episode featured Shiba Inus. C decided that was the type of dog we should get. Tim and I had considered them in the past when we got Willow but at the time they were rather uncommon.
After C's interest, Tim started looking and found Minnesota Shiba Inu Rescue. We've been keeping an eye on their postings since.
The long and short of it is that we are considering adopting a six-year-old bonded pair that were accepted from a puppy mill. The dog above is the female Yuuko and the dog below is the male Kei. Tonight a rep from MSIR will come check our family and house out. Then we will see.
