cocoons and irises and columbines

Do you remember the woolly bears of last fall? One hatched out of its cocoon. Unfortunately, K found it right before her scary episode. By the time, we got back to him, he had died. The cocoon is fascinating - it was wrapped up in a leaf and inside the wool, was a black chrysalis. Cool, huh? The moth is an Isabella Moth.

Sometime during the week, I spent some quality time in the backyard with my macro lens. It was fun. I haven't done it in a long time. I was in a very abstract mood as you can tell by some of the shots. What surprised me is how well they turned out. Like I said, its been awhile and I am out of practice.
