children familiar with great thoughts take as naturally to thinking for themselves as the well-nourished body takes to growing; and we must bear in mind that growth, physical, intellectual, moral, spiritual, is the sole end of education." Charlotte Mason

art projects from last weeks poetry and art
My poor, poor children. The problem with having a Mom who periodically teaches art for other kids is that they get to keep doing the same crafts over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over....
But I think the really good projects are worth redoing. So, here we go again. :) Silhouettes over their shaving cream marbleized paper and a lesson about why Victorians cut silhouettes. :) I love silhouettes and the girls have had theirs done in a variety of genres and probably will have more done as the years progress. :)
We also made cd tops (again). :) This is a fun craft to do with kids because when they are done they hang out and play with them. We have one boy in our group who is brilliant and very scientific. I could totally see him making various tops with different color combos on the top to see them spin.
